£150m Winter Gardens mixed use planning application now lodged at Bournemouth Borough Council

We are pleased to announce the mixed-use planning application prepared by Planning Solutions Partnership. Please see PDF.

This is the largest value application ever to be lodged at Bournemouth Borough Council.

The scheme comprises:
  • Cinema
  • Indoor family leisure
  • External family leisure including external piazzas for winter ice skating, farmers markets and sporting events such as Wimbledon
  • Restaurants
  • A new 100-120 bedroom hotel
  • Residential apartments
  • Public and private gardens
  • 610 parking spaces
There will be no pubs or nightclubs within the scheme.

The total build and land value will be circa £150m creating in excess of 1000 jobs in construction and for the operators.

An indication by an internationally known American leisure operator to run the cinema and family leisure is being progressed and if finalised would see their first UK leisure scheme.

The Winter Gardens site was famous for historically hosting the Beatles and Rolling Stones and many other artists.
